Cadet Summer Camp 2024
Our Cadets and staff had an absolutely fantastic time at the Cadet Summer Camp 2024, filled with laughter, learning, and new experiences!
After arriving safely, they spent their first day on an outing to North Yorkshire Water Park, where they did zip-wiring, bushcrafting, sailing, low ropes, paddleboarding, and aquatic assault courses!
Despite the wet weather on the second day, the camp leaders demonstrated their adaptability by swiftly rearranging the morning activities. The cadets, showing their resilience, enthusiastically took part in Skill at Arms, STEM, and Team-Building activities in the dry.
The cadets quickly made friends with the other school, demonstrating what teamwork and leadership look like.
Undeterred by the continued rain, our cadets displayed remarkable resilience by sleeping out in basic accommodation. The following day, they woke with fighting spirits for a day of tactical manoeuvres training. A warming shower and a quick nap in the afternoon ensured high spirits, and the cadets even held an impromptu karaoke and dance session in the car park!
On the final day of camp, cadets from all units were treated to a diverse range of activities, including paintball, air rifle practice, DCCT (advanced indoor shooting simulator), tag archery, gun run, laser shot, command tasks/STEM, and archery. The day was made even more special with a visit from Mrs. Lord, who also joined in the fun!
“I had a great day! Huge thanks to everyone involved, and well done to all our cadets who were clearly having the best time. I am so proud to see them merging with other CCFs, especially from Fir Vale and Bradford Grammar School. Fabulous!!”
