Wellbeing
Whilst it is important to ensure we are physically healthy, it is important to make sure we take care of our mental health and wellbeing too.
The community of Honley High School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting their emotional and physical welfare. We expect all staff, governors and visitors to share this commitment and support our students and safeguarding team in creating a safe environment by remaining vigilant and placing the welfare of the child above all other concerns.
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are:
Mrs Halliday - Designated Safeguarding Lead and Assistant Headteacher
Mr Hancock - Designated Safeguarding Officer
Mr Meads - Assistant Headteacher
Mr Corcoran - Pastoral Support Officer
Mrs Lord - Head of School
We are a listening school and encourage students to speak to a member of staff if they have any concerns or worries for themselves or a friend so we can help them.
If any urgent safeguarding inquiries arise, our safeguarding team can be contacted at 01484 506484 (8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 4.00pm on Fridays) or by email at office@honley.tlt.school. Alternatively, you can contact Kirklees Children’s Social Care on 01484 456848.
Should you find yourself in a position where you or a friend or a child you know are at immediate risk of significant harm, you can contact the police by calling 999.
Additionally, there is a wide range of local and national support agencies you can contact if you're struggling with difficult feelings and need to talk to someone quickly. We have included some below, but many more can be found on the Kirklees Services Directory and the NHS website https://nhs.uk.
