RESOURCED PROVISION - OUR OFFER
Below is an outline of our Core Offer for our Additionally Resourced Provision:
Dedicated and separate taxi drop-off/pick-up point outside the ARP
Morning check-in and organisation prompts prior to form group – 15 mins daily
Afternoon relaxation and problem-solving/check out – 10 mins daily
Specialist adult support in mainstream school lessons - ranges from full 1:1 support to monitoring via teacher assessments and informal information gathering
Daily break time support, including homework help/access to games/PCs/social guidance
Daily lunchtime support, including specialist support in the dining room. Option to eat within the provision if required with a graduated and supported transition into the main dining room
Daily transition support between lessons – ranges from full 1:1 support to students independently transitioning
Safe and supportive environment within the provision for students to return to complete work outside of lessons if required
Sensory diet activities included daily as required by student needs – access to dark dens etc, as required. Students have access to individual resources to support self-regulation and ease anxiety throughout the day
Key worker sessions: problem-solving/personal development & IEP targets/student voice - 10 mins at the end of each day, with a dedicated session at least fortnightly dependent upon student curriculum
Individualised ARP Curriculum: fortnightly as directed by student need (identified through EHCP, family priorities and SCERTS assessments) and timetabling considerations involving; direct teaching independence/self-help skills (group/personal), direct teaching social communication and social perspective taking (group/personal), and direct teaching for emotional regulation (group/personal)
Curriculum focused teaching/catch-up/homework/exam prep as directed by student need and timetabling considerations
Visual timetables in all provision rooms with any staffing/rooming changes identified for students where possible
Parent Liaison – Home-school book (or email exchange) completed by key worker as required. Coffee afternoons once every term. Direct email contact with key worker and/or teacher-in-charge
Honley Autism Provision Parent Support group (HAPPS) runs half-termly. Individual parent meetings on request – both formal and informal
Close liaison with main school staff through information on staff shared computer area (IEPs, Provision Mapping, key strategies etc), Arbor (School Information Management System) and staff emails. Individual contact via key workers for subject specific concerns etc
Annual whole school ‘World Autism Week’ Awareness, including information assemblies for all year groups and form time activities
Student Autism Ambassadors trained in school to offer support to students and raise awareness and support fundraising
ITT training and new staff training are given. Information on new students and general awareness reminders are provided each September to the whole staff cohort and throughout the year as required
Weekly ARP news and information shared via email with all staff
Transition package – bespoke for each individual student. May include graduated times, with altered start/finish times; access only to ARP initially; accessing only one main school lesson and gradually building up in line with student needs and family priorities
Exam concessions are arranged as appropriate. All students take tests/exams in an individual room with a member of staff that is familiar to them
Reward strategies linked to the main school reward system and individual to the ARP
Daily ARP staff briefing to share information and student strategies to ensure a consistent approach. Training is given weekly to up-skill provision staff as relevant. Weekly briefing sheets and staff record book to support the handover of information to part-time staff
