Whernside Prep!
Our intrepid team of 14 students, completed a pre peak practice walk ahead of their Whernside hike next week!
The Three Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside are among the best-known hills in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Mr Thewlis, Mr Myers, Mr Corcoran and Miss Woodhouse, will be joining our students to walk to the top of Whernside, the highest peak in Yorkshire, as part of our Together Learning Trust ‘Yorkshire Three Peaks Trek’ along with Ryburn Valley and Brooksbank High Schools, who will each complete the other 2 peaks.
With spectacular scenery and fantastic walking opportunities, this is a unique chance for our students, and staff to challenge themselves, meet their peers from Brooksbank and Ryburn, and soak up the scenery whilst also fundraising.
As a school, we are raising awareness and funds for Ruddi’s Retreat, a charity who works extremely close to our school and who has also supported some of our students in need.
