GCSE POD - KS4 ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE
GCSE Pod for English Literature and Language
Last term, we introduced an exciting new programme, 'GCSE Pod,' to support students’ English Literature and Language GCSEs as they move into Years 10 and 11.
What is GCSE Pod?
GCSE Pod is an immersive and engaging programme with a very student-centric platform design, making site navigation straightforward. The content is of a high standard and offers lots of challenges while still allowing all types of learners to engage.
Homework
English homework is set weekly on GCSE Pod and will be in the form of 'Pods', instructional videos that students watch at their own pace and have the option to add subtitles. These are followed by 'Learning Activities' and 'Check and Challenge' quizzes to test their understanding. 'Learning Activities' and 'Check and Challenge' quizzes come complete with answers and explanations to support students' understanding should they answer incorrectly.
Students receive online 'diamonds' for correctly completed quizzes, and as with Seneca, we will closely monitor successes and award accordingly.
How to log in to GCSE Pod
Students log in to GCSE Pod, through their Office 365 accounts, as they did with Seneca, to prevent any forgotten username or password issues.
Parent and Carer Support
For further information and to better support your child's learning, we encourage you to explore the 'Parent Toolkit' available here: Parent Toolkit.
GCSE Pod is a fantastic platform for engaging students in revision and homework and a vital accompaniment to their English GCSEs.
Any Questions?
If you or your child have any questions about GCSE Pod or your child's progress in English, please don't hesitate to contact Mrs Roxanne Sweeney-Hirst, Head of English or their English teacher.
